FAQs

What is EMDR?

EMDR is a trauma treatment that uses bilateral stimulation (i.e. eye-movements, tapping, vibrations) to process traumatic information effectively. The bilateral stimulation in EMDR desensitizes traumatic material (i.e. images, sounds, body sensations, etc.) to help decrease and eliminate disturbances. EMDR is also used to install positive information by strengthening neural networks in your brain that are associated with positive memories, thoughts, body sensations, and feelings.

Do you take insurance?

I do currently take Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance at this time.

Do you offer sliding scale rates?

I do not offer sliding scale rates since I take insurance. I offer private pay at $135-170 per 45–60-minute individual, couples, or family session or I am able to take Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance.

What is ERP?

ERP therapy is a specialized treatment for obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and other anxious disorders (i.e. phobias, social anxiety, etc.). In ERP therapy, the therapist exposes clients to anxious material in a safe and effective manner and then prevents the clients from completing an anxious response/compulsion (i.e. exposing a client afraid of germs to touching a doorknob without allowing client to wash their hands immediately after). By preventing an anxious response/compulsion, the brain learns how to regulate anxiety properly.
